0730 Birdsville Walking Tour with Alex from Big Red Tours

1030 High Tea at The Humpy Cafe (from mid-April 2021)

1130 Browse the Wirrarri Information Centre

1300 Grab a pie at The Birdsville Bakery for lunch (from April 2021)

1400 See the desert from the air with an Arid Air scenic flight (Start date TBA)

1500 Browse the Australian Inland Mission museum and stay for tea and scones (from April 2021)

1700 Catch the sunset at Big Red with a Grazing Box, or all inclusive with a tour

1900 Dinner at The Birdsville Hotel

2100 Take in the Outback Sky with 4-holes of night golf at the unique Birdsville Dunes Golf Course (from April 2021)

Day 2

0700 Early morning walk to Pelican Point

0800 Breakfast at The Humpy Cafe (from mid-April 2021)

0930 Experience the Birdsville Court House Hologram Display (from April 2021)

1100 Morning tea at the Birdsville Bakery (from April 2021)

Take a break before a scrumptious lunch

1300 Lunch at the Birdsville Hotel

Afternoon Options

  • Drop into the National Parks office for a chat with Ranger Don about the area

  • Play 9 holes at the unique Birdsville Dunes Golf Course (from April 2021)

  • Hire Finska from the Birdsville Roadhouse and play at your camp, billabong or oval

  • Drop into the Birdsville Roadhouse and pick up our free Scavenger Hunt

  • Explore the history inside the Birdsville Hotel

  • Take a drive to see the rare Waddi Trees

  • Checkout the Thutirla Pula Dreamtime site (currently closed due to flood damage)

  • Follow the Footsteps of Time around town

  • Hire racquets and balls for a hit of tennis

  • Walk through the Birdsville Race Course and imagine it filled with 5000 people

  • Visit the Burke and Wills Tree

  • Take a look at the Old Diamantina Crossing and imagine hauling food and supplies across by boat in floodwaters

  • Drop a line in the Diamantina and try your luck at fishing

  • Put your feet up and let the kids play at the parks in town

  • Head back to Big Red for an afternoon of fun in the sand

1700 Hire a kayak and grab a Grazing Box for a sunset paddle on the Billabong (from April 2021)

1830 Enjoy a Stockman's Dinner around the fire while hearing stories from locals at the Australian Inland Mission (from April 2021)

1930 Grab a nightcap at The Birdsville Hotel
